Announcement: MLB Network Presents 1960 World Series Game 7

Tomorrow night, I plan on live blogging the 1960 Rebroadcast. It won't be anything official in nature, more of a laid back dialogue between commenter and fans alike. Hopefully it will allow us more of a 'community' feel.

It is rare that a night like tomorrow night comes along. A year ago, if you asked me to come up with a top 5 Holy Grail baseball broadcast list, this game would be on it everytime. So, let's try to make the most of it.

Just drop by a little before 8 pm EST when the broadcast actually begins. At 7:30, MLB Network is airing a special on Bing Crosby and the discovery of this print.

So, I'll put up a post tomorrow afternoon and drop by during the broadcast and give a running commentary of what you think of the broadcast. Let's have some fun with it. Discoveries like this will become fewer and further between from here on out.

In the immortal words of the late Jack Buck: We'll See You Tomorrow Night!

  1. I see that Bob Costas is doing interviews with some of the old Pirates and Yankees. I hope they do this as a special at the beginning of the show, but I have a feeling they'll be interwoven throughout. I'd just like to watch the game.

  2. I ordered the game off amazon.com with overnight shipping. I worked wednesday night and wanted to beat the mlb network telecast. Not to ruin anything, I just want to say you wont be disappointed. Included in the dvd is the radio audio as well. very exciting.

  3. Hey Anonymous, does it end differently on the DVD? Wait, don't ruin it!

    Heh heh. Just kidding.

But seriously, are the interviews interwoven into the game like MLB Netwrok is apparently doing, or are they all together? Also, that's cool that the radio audio is on there. I was hoping that would be the case but couldn't find confirmation anywhere. That's what MLB did with the Don Larsen perfect game as well, in the NY Yankees Perfect Games and No-Hitters box. Thanks for the info--I just ordered it too but will be watching tonight!

  4. I was wondering that myself. Are the interviews provided as a bonus feature or are they indeed interwoven into the broadcast. Likewise, what commercials remained if any?

I'm hoping Santa brings a copy of this game with him when he stops by our house Christmas Eve. Till then, I'll have to rely on others for info.
